Last Time

Today was the LAST time we got to walk to church. I'm so sad, yet happy to be attending the Stake Center right next to the Temple! It will give us the opportunity to see the beauty of the Temple more frequently..but it's further away and we have to drive there-but life goes on.

Every week on the way home from church we pick the biggest leaf we can find from a certain tree. Today that tradition ended-since we'll be attending a new building. So I took a picture to remember the last leaves!

Good news-we are getting another stake here in southern Idaho. It will be the Southern Idaho Stake-we will be staying in our current stake The Twin Falls Stake-but it's just marvelous to realize how much our numbers are growing here in Magic Valley.

YCC

The Youth Cultural Celebration is OVER. I was very pleased at the final result-I was thinking that 4 months of chaotic practices were never going to come together-but the youth looked wonderful and I am VERY happy with the final result, and thrilled the stress is OVER.

The Prophet did come to the final show last night (Saturday August 23rd); it was really awesome seeing him, both for the youth and leaders. I can't remember the last time the prophet was physically in the same place as me.

If you would like to read about it. There is an article in the newspaper.

This morning Eric and I attended the first of 4 Dedication sessions for the Twin Falls Temple. It was remarkable, the spirit was there and I am so excited to have a Temple here. During the corner stone President Monson had a good humor-and it was more fun than spiritual and was appreciated that they entire thing wasn't so formal. And we got to see a side of the prophet we don't normally.

Sessions at the Temple will be by appointment only-we'll soon find out if that's a good thing or bad for us, because we'll have to plan in advance. Either way I'm excited to attend by the end of September.

Recipe

Last night I made Eric and I one of these little cakes and I just re-fell in love with them! They are super good-and I thought I better share with you guys. Hopefully it's one you guys can fall in love with too.

Baker's Molten Chocolate Cakes

4 squares Baker's semi-sweet baking chocolate (I've just used choc. chips before-it was good)
1/2 cup butter
1 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
6 T. flour

Preheat oven to 425*. Butter 4 (3/4 cup) custard cups or souffle dishes. Place on baking sheet.

Microwave chocolate and butter in large bowl on HIGH 1 minute or until butter is melted. Stir with wire whisk until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in sugar until well blended. Whisk in eggs and egg yolks. Stir in flour. Divide batter between prepared custard cups.

Bake 13-14 minutes or until sides are firm but centers are soft. Let stand 1 minute. Carefully run a knife around cakes to loosen. Invert cakes onto dessert dishes. Serve immediately.

**I just half the recipe and have 1 for Eric and I..it's perfect!

New Roof

In the month of July we got a new roof. I told my parents I'd send them pictures and never did-and figured I might as well post them on my blog.

Old roof coming off-looks similar to new roof-but it's not I promise! Notice there's NO tar paper..yeah the shingles just heated to the roof..the guy was surprised we never had any leaks.

This is the new roof we put on, we LOVE it! It looks really nice.

Yeah this is what our roof looks like on our carport--not so nice! UGLY in fact..I HATE IT. But I'm trying not to get upset over it anymore-I've gotten past how horrible it looks and I never look out this window. This roof doesnt' have a steep enough slope to have regular shingles on-so we agreed to have rolled shingles put on it, but it was suppose to be close to the roof color-it's NOT. I called the roofer the night after the job was done-and he claimed white was the only color available. And he has to seal the seams with tar-so that's why it's zebra striped and I HATE it, but there's nothing I can do about it-so whatever.

Family Fun

This weekend we drove down to Logan Utah - which was very fun. It was awesome to see family and hang out. The City pool there is incredible, it's got 2 slides which of course that's ALL Brandon & Tyler wanted to do. It was a bit chilly when you weren't in the water but it was very fun. Poor Barrett didn't have too much fun because it was right during his nap time, and Brett & Suzanne couldn't come because of work..but our boys loved it and had an awesome time. Tyler wanted to jump off the side and dunk his head under water constantly-I really need to get the boys into swim lessons!
We drove down Friday night, stayed at Brannon & Michelle's: Thank You! Played all day Saturday-visited our old neighbors Ashlie & Andy Stroman. Seeing them was just as if NO time had passed, it was really fun and made us remember how we miss Logan and how bad we want to live there..unfortunately the job search isn't in our favor but we're trying!
We drove home Saturday night, but the weekend was so fun and felt LONG and Eric still had 1 day of weekend left. We'll have to go to Logan more often!

Well I finally have pictures from Grandma Myrup's camera so this post is going to have a couple random pictures.

-A great picture before the family arrived at Mirror Lake

-Getting close tot he Dinosaurs with Grand Dad; we had fun at the Earth & Science Museum

-Daddy & Brandon fishing in a boat (just after Brett's wedding) -this is Brandon's fish!

Okay Okay

So I was told that it's been over a week since I've posted..and that's too long! Yeah Yeah I'll try to do better. This past weekend we went down to Orem Utah. It was a blast! Alan and Linda are doing well as empty nesters though they say they really haven't had time to adjust since Shanna keeps visiting, which they happily welcome.

Saturday we had the opportunity to see my "brother" Daniel Miller; a wonderful friend and as close as family from Utah State University-he now lives in Lehi. It was so much fun going mini golfing with him and looking back on the crazy college life of studying and the classes we had-we had loads of fun! Thanks to Linda we didn't have to take any children with us!

Then on Monday Grandma, Grand Dad, Brandon, Tyler & I went to the BYU Earth & Science Museum. I've taken Brandon there before, it's small but awesome because it's free! I learned there's no such dinosaur as a Brontosaurus which I totally didn't know-but to Brandon there still is! There's NO way I'm teaching him new dinosaur names at this point--plus he's getting into Transformers anyway.

Eric & I also had the opportunity to meet up with our friend Lance Buxton (http://austinbuxtons.blogspot.com/) who used to live in Twin Falls but moved to Texas about a year ago. We went to lunch and drug him along as we saw the new LDS Foundation something something-where Eric used to work while he was going to BYU. His friend Dave Smith (http://www.kadenceandtayah.blogspot.com/) still works there..so it was really awesome to catch up with him, even though Brandon & Tyler were getting really loud and running around-it was a bit embarrassing.

So that was our fun weekend-and of course there was plenty rough housing with Grandma & Grand Dad at their house! It was nice to spend a lot of time with them.

Oh what recent books have people read--I want something really good and not a mystery-too many Diane Mott Davidson lately.
